December 2021 Newsletter

This is being done again by your President so it is simple and basic, i.e., no jokes, but there are photos from the Holiday Luncheon included.

We have a new Treasurer, Jim Brink. Jim Brink volunteered and will start the first of the year. Jim has been a member since 2003. We thank Joan for her excellent work as our treasurer. She was excellent at dealing with Wells Fargo in keeping our bank fees to a minimum. Welcome, Jim.

Additionally, our first meeting of 2022 will occur on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at the Scottsdale Granite Reef Senior Center. The meeting start time is 1:00 pm, club business will take place at 1:45 pm, and our speaker will begin at 2:00 pm.

November 2021 Newsletter

Highlights from this month’s newsletter:

This newsletter is being done without our past editor Stu Mitnik, who has resigned. We thank Stu for his work for the Club for many years. We need a volunteer to be our Editor. This is being done by your President so it is very simple and basic, i.e., no jokes, simple format.

We’re hosting a Holiday Charity Luncheon on Dec 8, 2021, starting at 1100am. It will be like the event we planned last year but had to cancel due to COVID. Both paper and email flyers were sent out. The location is the Scottsdale Plaza Resort located on the northwest corner of Scottsdale Road and Indian Bend Road. The street address is 7200 Scottsdale Road.

We had a great time at our Oktoberfest event. We hope our first Granite Reef Senior Center will be open for our January 5, 2022, regular meeting.

Special Oktoberfest Announcement

Honeywell Garrett Retirees Club members – as your President I declare that it’s time again for good times and camaraderie. We have all been cooped up for too long. Your Event Manager, Diane Bennett, has created a fun Oktoberfest event for your enjoyment.

The event will be held at the City of Tempe Kiwanis Park on October 6. The feast includes Bratwurst, Warm German salad, Sauerkraut, and a desert. Beverages include iced tea, coffee, and beer. We will have a professional Accordion musician, Leigh Dechaine, for our entertainment. His photo is on the flyer and he does requests. All this for only $25 each.

If you plan to attend, please contact Diane Bennett no later than Sept 15. Do not send any money. The money will be collected at the event.

Proof of vaccination or masks is not required for this event unless the City of Tempe requires them for outdoor events at Kiwanis Park on October 6.

Looking forward to seeing you. Support Your Club.
